The Certificate in Computer Studies course is designed to train school leavers both in computer theory and direct applications for careers in computing as computer professionals in programming and systems analysis.

It also provides a firm educational foundation of depth and breadth to enable students to assimilate and execute instructions using the family of computer systems in common use.

There are three options leading graduates to different disciplines for further studies in the College, namely

Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) / Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia Vokasional (SPMV) as follows: -

        (i) Pass in Bahasa Melayu, English Language and Matematik.
        (ii) 4 credit passes in any arts/science subjects.

To opt for Certificate in Computer Studies B, students must have taken Matematik Tambahan and Fizik.

To opt for Certificate in Computer Studies C, students must have a pass in Matematik Tambahan.

Graduates of Certificate in Computer Studies may be considered for credit transfer to the following course for the Diploma in Science:
 
CCS (A) to Diploma in Science (Information Systems Engineering)
CCS (B) to Diploma in Science (Information Technology)
CCS (C) to Diploma in Science (Computer Science Combinaiton C)

Many universities in the United Kingdom and Australia consider the Certificate as equivalent to G.C.E. (A Level) or S.T.P.M. qualification.  Several universities admit graduates of this course into the second year of a three-year degree course depending on the relevance and grades achieved of the subjects taken in the course.

Certificate holders may also gain admission to degree courses in the United States with credit transfer of relevant subjects taken in the course.  In a number of American universities, exemption of up to 60 credits are possible depending on the relevance and grades achieved of the subjects taken in the course.
